GAIA proposes a novel VR-based training approach to address gender-based discrimination and promote empathy-building and personal empowerment of women.
During the VR experience, the participants will be fully immersed in the three-dimensional virtual environment and will be able to experience perspective-taking shifts, allowing them to enter the position of someone else and understand gender-based discrimination from different viewpoints. The VR content and scenario have been developed based on real-life incidents and challenges faced by women in the workplace with the aim to raise awareness of gender-based harassment and promote empathy-building, reflection and empowerment. The VR tool will be open and freely accessible upon the completion of the implementation period, allowing anyone to use it to address the social challenge of gender-based harassment.
